What Is The Scene Hair Trend All About?

If you want to make a loud and unique fashion statement, then you should definitely consider getting the scene hair look. But before you do anything, make sure you learn all about it and how it can be achieved.

In order to understand where the trend of scene hair came from, you need to know a little about its background. A sub genre of punk rock known as ‘emo’ came to life in the 80’s and became very popular. As time went on, a certain genre of music started to be associated with a particular style of fashion and today, the world of emo is more than just a type of music, but a fashion statement as well. Figure-hugging t-shirts, tight jeans, canvas sneakers, studded belts, long fringe bangs, and dyed black or blond straight hair are what this look entails.

How To Get Emo Hair - Part 1

The most popular emo hairstyle is called scene hair and can be defined as being choppy, blunt or shaggy.  If you desire to have this style of emo hair, there are some guidelines that you must keep in mind, which serve as helpful tips. When followed, you will be able to accomplish this unique looking hairstyle.

So, here is how to get emo hair:

If you want to get this hairstyle, you need to have a layered haircut.  This means you’re going to have to grow out your hair long enough, so that the bangs will reach to your cheeks the least. If you want to have scene long hair, then you’ll have to grow your hair past your chin.

To get this look, you can either go to a professional hairstylist or attempt to do it yourself. If you plan to do it on your own, make sure you taper your bangs in such a way that they flow or go in only one direction.  The rest of your hair layers should be very choppy or blocky.

How To Get Scene Hair - Part 2

The back of your hair should not touch the shoulder area. It must be a few inches below the hair line, which is at the nape of your neck. If your hair is not already straight, then you’ll have to get it done beforehand. If you want to have the full look of scene hair, then you’ll have to color your hair black, as this along with bleach blond shades are the best choices.

Once you hair is colored with the needed shade, the next step is to add streaks to it. If you’ve dyed your hair blond, then blue or pink streaks will be a nice choice. Experts say that for black hair, it’s best to add blond streaks to create the perfect scene stylish hair.

To finish the look of scene hair, you can use wax to divide the layers piece by piece. With the wax placed on your fingers, pull down on the hair and this will separate the layers of your hair. You may also want to use a light brand of hairspray so it’ll beautifully stay in place.
