Diamond Cross Necklace

For my wife’s birthday last year I bought her a diamond cross necklace and she loved it. I was out of ideas and therefore I was panicking. Her birthday was coming up fast and I didn’t have a clue as to what to get her. I am a bit of a spoiler when it comes to my wife and because I have spoiled her so much I have already pretty much bought her everything but the moon. Birthdays, anniversaries and Christmas presents have gotten harder and harder to come up with and because of this the presents were getting more and more expensive. If I couldn’t think of a gift that she would like I would end up raising the amount of money that I would spend. One birthday I had even considered buying her a car!

Sometimes you need to go back to the basics and a cross necklace is a great place to start. In my quest to top the present from the year before I had forgotten about buying her creative and meaningful gifts and had instead resorted to expensive ones. A cross necklace is exactly what she wasn’t expecting and she loved it.

I didn’t know what to do so I just walked into the religious jewellery store browsing for something, a cross pendant or necklace, that would catch my eye.

The clerk asked me if I was looking for anything in particular and I told her that I was looking for something to give my wife on her birthday and didn’t have the slightest clue what to get her. I told her about all of the past gifts and expensive things that I had bought her over the last couple of years but this year I had no ideas. She asked me if my wife had a cross necklace and I said, “No”, not caring too much about the suggestion until she brought one of those diamond cross necklaces out and showed it to me. She was explaining to me about the significance of the necklace and why it has a lot of meaning. I could have just as easily given her one of those diamond wedding ring sets, but a cross pendant has so much more meaning than that!

The one that she had suggested was beautiful and it made me remember a necklace that my wife had when we had first met. She loved that cross and lost it on a trip that we had taken to Mexico. That’s when it hit me. This necklace looks exactly the same as that cross necklace and what better gift to give someone than something that they had loved but no longer had? I gave my wife the necklace for her birthday and let me tell you I could tell by the look on her face that it was one of the best presents that I had given her.
